
CEHD RESEARCH
The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP) supports CEHD students, faculty and staff with pre-award and post-award activities and grant activities. Our pre-award staff serves as the initial point of contact for faculty when they are submitting proposals. Our post-award contacts serve as the primary contact for award management.
Support educational researchers through the strengthening of internal and external relationships.
Support educational researchers’ post-award activities, including financial administration and research support.
Support educational researchers’ pre-award activities, including grant searching and proposal development.
Pre-Award Grants and Contract Officers
- Review RFPs
- Provide timelines for proposal development
- Work with faculty to create budgets and budget justifications that meet sponsor and institutional requirements, include correct rates for salaries, fringe benefits, and indirect costs
- Assist faculty with cost-share arrangements
- Review required proposal documents for adherence to the RFP and upload documents into sponsor systems
- Route proposals for required signatures before submission
Post-Award Grants and Contract Officers
- Track project spending and perform monthly expenditure reviews on all sponsored projects in their portfolios
- Track faculty effort across projects
- Request cost transfers, re-budgets, no-cost extensions and so forth
- Initiate sub-award requests
- Approve grant-related expenditures in Georgia State systems

Research Snapshot: Reading Interventions for Students with Dyslexia
Educators in several states use the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach to reading intervention for students with dyslexia. Assistant Professor Elizabeth Stevens and colleagues reviewed this intervention method to learn whether current research supports its use. read more ❯
Georgia State Awarded $234,268 from Google to Support Computer Science Education
Associate Professor Lauren Margulieux received $234,268 in funding from Google to work with teacher education faculty members at the university on incorporating computer science lessons into their curriculum for all K-12 grades and then study how these lessons are used in classrooms throughout Georgia. read more ❯
