Recognizing the staff of CEHD – Kudos to Regina Finan
This kudos is for my awesome co-worker Regina Finan, M.S. Administrative Specialist, Managerial.
I am truly honored to work with Regina. She is so professional, positive, conscientious and just an overall wonderful person. Regina brings out the best in everyone. She is a true leader who wants students and others to be their best-selves and reach their full potential. She is the best academic advisor anyone could ask for to our many Counseling and Psychological Services students both at the masters and Ph.D. level.
Finan’s educational background includes a B.A. in communication with a concentration in broadcast journalism from Georgia State University (she was Homecoming Queen, by the way!). She also has an M.Ed. in student personnel in higher education from the University of Florida, an M.S. in mental health counseling from Georgia State University and is currently a doctoral candidate in counseling and student personnel services at the University of Georgia (Gwinnett campus).
Her work experience includes program coordinator at the University Center, student programs and events at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., director of the student center at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, N.Y., human resources training and development coordinator at the student center at Georgia State University and currently, she’s an administrative specialist, managerial in the Department of Counseling & Psychological Services.
As you can see from Finan’s extensive education and job experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge, understanding and expertise to our department. We are so fortunate to have her!
Finan is a joy to work with and no matter how busy she is, (which, is really busy), she always makes time to help and listen to students, faculty and staff.
She has two beautiful children, Bella (who is in third grade this year) and C.J. (who is in pre-k here at the Lanette Suttles Child Development Center). And she has an amazing husband, Chris, who supports her in every way.
